Social Entrepreneurship
The Social Entrepreneurship Track offers both major and minor options. The curriculum emphasizes developing students with an awareness of social justice principles that enables them to organize, create and manage a venture to impact social change. Whereas a business entrepreneur typically measures performance in profit and return, a social entrepreneur assesses success in terms of the impact they have on society.

Bioscience Entrepreneurship Minor
Is offered to College of Business students who are interested in the bioscience technology commercialization process. Students will work with Creighton University’s Technology Transfer Office to commercialize a bioscience research technology invented by a student or faculty member at Creighton University or the University of Nebraska Medical Center.

Social Entrepreneurship Minor
Is offered to non-business majors at Creighton who are interested in learning basic business planning principles in the context of making a broader contribution to society. Students take a required three-course sequence including social innovation, business planning for social entrepreneurs, and a related internship or incubator experience. In addition, minors complete courses in microeconomics, marketing and business ethics.

Ignition Grants
Students who have successfully completed the Social Incubator class are eligible to apply for Ignition Grants. These Ignition funds allow students to begin implementing their business plans. Students submit and present their plans with a budget to compete for the reimbursement of up to $500 of actual expenses.
